A Little background:
Most housekeeping departments in the hospitality industry continue to rely on paper printouts and last-minute information for scheduling and managing assigned rooms for each housekeeper. This approach is slow, prone to human error, and may not be up to date with the live status of customer traffic.
Consequently, both the supervisor and the housekeeper are engaged in a substantial amount of manual work, including updating guest and cleaning statuses, managing unforeseen situations, and communicating with other departments.

Our competitive analysis revealed a key advantage for CleanOps: our all-in-one approach streamlines workflows and boosts efficiency. Beyond digitization and centralization, we employ algorithms to automate task assignment and gather data, identifying operational pain points. This not only saves time for managers and staff but also empowers managers to use data-driven insights for optimizing resource allocation, identifying productivity trends, and making informed decisions that enhance overall performance. CleanOps goes beyond basic task management by offering solutions that simplify management operations.

We initially proposed two interfaces: one for housekeepers and another for managers. These designs were based on the specific requirements and needs of each user group.
UI Design Stage
Based in my contributions to the project, I Will show the design process for the request center for both Housekeeper and manager and related items.
Wireframes
Request center allows users to easily request rolling cart and room supplies. To make the process familiar and intuitive, we’ve designed it like a virtual shopping cart. Users can select the items they need, and their requests will be automatically formatted as orders and sent directly to the manager’s interface.

Housekeeper’s View
– The interface features separate sections for self and room supplies, along with a pending requests queue and a history of completed requests.
– The shopping cart’s scrollable mosaic view allows users to easily browse items, while the filtering options simplify the search process.
– Each item in the shopping cart will have a detailed section where users can add specific notes and adjust the quantity.
– The Shopping cart allows to display an edit the order summary
– Housekeepers can request room supplies, which are then restocked by room runners.

– Pending requests are updated when information is received from the other interface.
– The interface allows managers to approve or decline multiple requests at once using a bulk selection feature.
